The maximum length of the strap is 27cm, allowing it to fit a range of wrist sizes, as it is easily adjustable. It comes in an accordion style and it features an engraved ‘Super 7’ extra-secure stainless steel buckle to ensure that the watch remains securely fastened on your wrist at all times. Silicone straps have long been a staple feature of many of the market’s most reliable dive watches, due to their superior water resistant qualities. This timepiece comes on a comfortable black perforated silicone strap that is both breathable and durable. Additional depth is bestowed on to the dial through the chapter ring that is home to a white 60-minute track around the edge of the dial. A sunken day-date window replaces the 3 o’clock marker, and provides the dial with depth. The ‘Rotary Super 7’ logo is positioned neatly beneath the 12 o’clock index, which features the quintessential orange accents that invigorate the dial. The lollipop second hand is an important feature as the lumed circular tip provides the wearer with confirmation that the watch is still running when in darkness or the depths of the sea. Each hand has also been treated to a luminous coating to allow for easy reading, while the minute hand features an orange outline and blue luminous hues to match the pip to easily differentiate dive timing from the rest of the dial. High grade green luminosity has been generously applied to the markers to allow for readability even at the greater depths of the oceans.Įach of the three hands differentiates in size, to enhance the legibility of the dial. Deeply applied circular hour markers surround the dial, with rectangular hour markers at 12, 6 and 9 to ensure easy orientation of the dial at depths of even 300 metres in the ocean.
Rotary watch black code#
Legibility was the central design code behind the layout of the dial. The black dial has a classic and technical appeal as it pays homage to the dive watches of the 1970s, when uncluttered design prevailed. Also, the tall sided bezel grip gives the watch an added statement of intent, while tying the piece back to its archived roots, as it allows you to easily rotate the bezel and measure elapsed diving time. It is a 120-click and uni-directional bezel that allows for precise and smoother movement when rotated. High-grade luminosity also features heavily throughout the bezel, as each of the markers and the diver’s dot illuminate when in areas of low light, improving the functionality of the watch. The bezel will retain its eye-catching glossy finish, as it is scratch resistant and fade resistant qualities, which is therefore why Rolex began to use ceramic bezel inserts as opposed to aluminium. The sleek black bezel is crafted from ceramic, a material that is favoured by luxury watch brands due to its durability and longevity. As any true tool watch should have, sapphire crystal glass has also been chosen due to its scratch resistant qualities, second only to diamond in terms of its durability.
Rotary watch black serial#
The case back also features an engraved serial number, making each piece unique. The screw down case back, that features a deeply etched ‘Super 7’ logo, helps to provide the impressive 300 metres of water resistance. An embossed ‘S7’ screw down crown is protected by a tapered crown guard, allowing for easy usability and functionality. It consists of a mixture of highly-polished and vertically-brushed finished surfaces, creating a subtle visual barrier. A 42mm robust 316 stainless steel case houses the highly reliable Miyota 8205 movement. The Rotary Super 7 S7S001S has been designed to provide you with optimal precision and performance.
